WSO Hallelujah Christmas

Presented by the Wangaratta Symphony Orchestra and Chime Choir

Celebrate the joy of the season with a festive concert full of wonder, warmth, and glorious music! Hallelujah Christmas brings together the WSO and Chime Choir (from Melbourne) for an uplifting program of traditional and contemporary Christmas favourites.

Enjoy orchestral classics like O Holy Night, Once in Royal David’s City, and the ever-popular Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson and some wonderful Choral works such as  Jubilate Deum, Breath of Heaven and the 12 Days of Christmas.

Then experience the magic as choir and orchestra unite to perform stirring excerpts from Handel’s Messiah, including the triumphant Hallelujah Chorus, along with a heartwarming community carol sing-along.

Chime Choir

Founded in 1984, Chime is a choir dedicated to performing heartfelt choral music that challenges and delights: we sing with professionalism, enthusiasm and vision for the future, nurturing a community that makes fresh and exciting music.  

The choir's diverse membership is united by the desire to sing choral music that speaks to the heart and mind, exploring the world past, present, and emerging.

Each year, Chime presents a number of concerts as well as performing at weddings and funerals, seasonal festivals, and special events, at a variety of locations. Chime has toured America, England, Germany, Italy, and Austria, participating in international choral competitions, including winning gold in New Zealand in 2024.

Chime has been privileged to collaborate with many wonderful choirs and musicians throughout 40 years of music-making. In 2025-2026, the choir is supported by Knox Council’s minor grants program, as the ensemble continues to connect with new audiences, musicians, and explore a diverse range of traditional and contemporary repertoire.
